Where have all the childhood gone ?

Kids have always done wild things for my camera. They sense that I’m a happy idiot who itches to join in their games. Of course they’re right about that. The sadness is that today very few children play in the streets, perhaps preferring video games. Too bad for street photography.

About' Past'

”The Greek word for “return” is nostos. Algos means “suffering.” So nostalgia is the suffering caused by an unappeased yearning to return.”

ー Milan Kundera ’Ignorance’

About 'Past'

“Photographs are a way of imprisoning reality…One can’t possess reality, one can possess images–one can’t possess the present but one can possess the past.”

― Susan Sontag, On Photography

*

"But one can possess the past."

Really? then why I'm keep feeling Homesick in this ugly big city ?

"One can’t possess the present."

Then why I'm keep suffering this age ?

When no one's watching it,
The sea stops being the sea
And turns into what we are
When no one can see us.
It spaws other kinds of fish
And makes other kinds of waves.
It's the sea for the sea
And for those dreaming of it
Just as I am doing here.

“Beauty has no other origin than the singular wound, different in every case, hidden or visible, which each man bears within himself, which he preserves, and into which he withdraws when he would quit the world for a temporary but authentic solitude.
Giacometti’s art seems to me determined to discover this secret wound in each being and even in each thing, in order for it to illuminate .”

An Old Oak, 1920, Kondratenko Gavriil Pavlovich (1854 - 1924) - Oil on Board -

*

“Look: the trees exist; the houses
we dwell in stand there stalwartly.
Only we
pass by it all, like a rush of air.
And everything conspires to keep quiet
about us,
half out of shame perhaps, half out of
some secret hope.”

Scent of ...

Apple Perfume, 1911, Charles Courtney Curran. American (1861 - 1942)
- Oil on Canvas -

“A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting. ”

― Christian Dior

*

” 女性の香りは、手書きの文字以上にその人を語る ”

ー クリスチャン・ディオール

*

“French women choose a scent when they’re girls and use it until they’re grandmothers. It becomes their trademark.
'Ah,' he murmurs in the dark theater, 'Giselle is here tonight!'

― Joan Crawford. 'My Way of Life'

Oh, it's a long, long time, from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And I haven't got time for the waiting game

Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you
These precious days I'll spend with you ...
